Immediately, unpack and water. It had a tough journey to get to you and needs a drink! If you selected compostable bag, water directly into bag prior to planting.
Put it in a location that helps it thrive. Use FNPS as a source for growing and care advice.
Native plants are seasonal and they will bloom at the intended time. Many Florida natives go dormant during the winter and will lose leaves and not be very pretty. If you purchase a plant during its dormancy, do not expect it to be flowering when you receive it. But do plant it out, water it and wait for it to grow and flower at the time nature intended. If you are in a zone that freezes please protect it too. Plants purchased at Big Box stores usually force the blooming of plants through artificial means using fertilizer and lighting variances.
I grow my plants outside in Florida, as I am a Florida native nursery. All my plants are open-pollinated with absolutely no chemicals or pesticides. If you are looking for a greenhouse grown plant, please shop elsewhere, as my plants embrace nature:)
Refunds or replacement plants due to shipping damage only. Each plant will be personally packaged to ensure it is shipped healthy and secure. However, If a plant is damaged during shipment and its viability is compromised, I will replace it or refund the price of the plant if the following is completed within 24 hrs of receipt. I will need an email with an attached photo of the damaged box and plant so I can make a claim against the shipping carrier for their negligence. This contact can be made by sending a message to locallyflowered@gmail.com.
I do try and keep as much plant length as possible, especially if they are flowering. If a stem becomes bent from shipping please just prune back to next leaf node for regrowth. Luckily, native perennial plants are very hardy and will regrow and thrive once they are planted out and watered.
